さすが アームストロングの コルベット（1967 Corvette Sting Ray Armstrong bought the car in 1967 from Melbourne auto dealer and former Indianapolis 500 champion Jim Rathmann, who let astronauts lease Corvettes for $1）情報はネット上に多いけれど、何も Apollo astronaut だけが コルベットを乗り回してたわけじゃ全然なく、某名作映画「ライトスタッフ」でデニス・クエイド（ゴードン・クーパー）が フレッド・ウォード（ガス・グリソム）に―
You know, it's funny. Here I am, I got $25,000 a year for a magazine contract ... got a free house with all the furnishings, got me a Corvette ... got a free lunch from one end of America to the other... and I ain't even been up there yet.
と、最初のマーキュリー宇宙飛行士からが（月どころか宇宙に飛ぶ前に）コルベットを進呈されていたことが分かるセリフを言う。
