ま、そもそもがジョンソンは（紛れもない）合衆国副大統領（Vice-President）であるからにして（それらしく描かれてはいるものの）７月 4日の独立記念日にヒューストンでマーキュリー７ファミリー御一行様のおもてなしなんぞ悠長（かつ酔狂）にやってるわけはなく、当日は Sam Houston Coliseum に来ておりません（当然、実際の映像にも登場しない）―この 1962年はケネディ大統領が Independence Hall（フィラデルフィア）で演説してるんで、またどっか他のとこで燻ってた（？）んだろうと推測します。（翌1963年はジョンソン副大統領が Independence Hall で演説）

Johnson and Yarborough were unable to come for the Independence Day welcoming parade and barbecue. Tower, Casey and Thomas arrived Tuesday night to participate in the celebration.
Said the vice-president: "On this great national holiday, I am happy to add my greetings to the warm welcome Houston is extending to our astronauts and the personnel of the manned spacecraft center. It is a proud day for Houston, for Texas and the nation and we look forward to many proud days ahead as these men and their colleagues reach for the stars."
と、ジョンソンは祝辞（a special message）を送っている。

と、いなかったジョンソンに仕切らさせるが、原作には（記事にある）Albert Thomas の名前を出して―
