John's right! Now, whether we like it or not, we're public figures. Whether we deserve it or not, people are going to look up to us. We have got a tremendous responsibility here.（字幕：ジョンの言うとおりだ 国中の注目を浴びてる以上― もっと責任を自覚すべきだ）
と肩を持つ。
スクリプトは―
Carpenter rises to Glenn’s defense:
CARPENTER
Just a minute, John’s right. Whether we like it or not we’re public figures. Whether we deserve it or not, people look up to us.
And then ALL TALKING AT ONCE:
CARPENTER AND GLENN SHEPARD AND THE REST
We’ve got a terrific responsibility… You can’t tell us what a pilot
It’s not enough not to get caught… does when he’s not flying…

satisfaction that you’ve done nothing there, then move over, pal…

と、明確にグレン＋カーペンター vs シェパード＋その他 の（原作に律儀な）タッグマッチ構図で描いていて、それが最終形態はカーペンター一人のセリフになる。
ただし、これは原作（もとネタ）ではカーペンターの主張では全然なく、もとよりグレンのミスター・クリーンマリーン的スタンス―
the Glenn position became: Look, whether we like it or not, we're public figures. Whether we deserve it or not, people look up to us. So we have a terrific responsibility. It's not enough not to get caught. It's not even enough to know to your own satisfaction that you've done nothing wrong. We've got to be like Caesar's wife.
